Abstract
The effective means for the processing, evaluation and utilization data collected from four metropolitan air monitoring stations maintained by the Bureau of Environment, Seoul Special City, were studied in this report.
1) The evaluation chart (Table 1 and 3) from air pollutants presents the arithmetic mean of the concentration for each hour determined, maximum concentration in 24 hours, geometric mean concentration and standard geometric deviation by each monitoring station.
2) This data can be grouped and evaluated based on the over rate of the density per hour (%) of each pollutant¢¥s concentration.
3) The materials can be prepared appropriately and distributed periodically to the Government Agency concerned for their administrative action.
4) For the air pollution data are processed accurately and rapidly by the computer, it is recommended that a computer program be available for the preparation of evaluation charts.
5) The location of the air monitoring station in this country may be selected by the Allegheny model of the U.S., where the same measure is applicable tothe emission sources.
6) For the appropriate use, air monitoring equipment may be classified into 3 types: The automatic continuous analyzer 2 . Semi-automatic equipment (SO., far
example, is impinged into the absorbing solution for a certain period of time and the absorbed solution is chemically analyzed), Stational unit (FbO2 candle and
deposit gauge).
The location of each unit is selected as shown in Fig. 3.
7) The summarized data of air monitoring should be used not only for the
evaluation of the present condition but also as the basic material for the future administrative action, such as the evaluation of the effect of seving raw materials and fuels.
8) It is recommended that the government officials with technical skill at the stations be joined with continuity in order to eliminate the failure in planning the air pollution protection programmed.
